OAKLAND — Devin Warren took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and also drove in a pair to lead the Messalonskee baseball team past Mt. Blue 10-0 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Saturday.
Josh Woodard also drove in a pair for the Eagles (2-2). Warren allowed just one hit and struck out four in five innings of work.
Dustin Richards had a single to account for the lone Mt. Blue (2-2) hit.
Rangeley 14, Richmond 2, 5 innings: Eric White hit a double and a single to help the Lakers take the East-West Conference win in Richmond.
On the mound, White struck out five and walked three while giving up two hits. Rangeley scored 12 runs in the fourth inning.
Rangeley is 1-1, Richmond is 0-3.
Softball
Messalonskee 15, Mt. Blue 6: Necole Harrison sparked a nine-run sixth inning with a two-run triple to help the Eagles pull away for the KVAC A win.
The teams were tied 6-6 before Messalonskee (4-0) exploded in the sixth. Nikki Collier and Jordan Roy each had a double and a single to lead the Eagles. Kassi Michaud earned the victory, striking out eight in six innings.
Sarah Turner had two singles and Addie Brinkman added a double to lead Mt. Blue (1-3).
Richmond 10, Rangeley 0: Danica Hurley hit a grand slam and Lindsy Hoopingarner had a pair of singles and as many RBIs to lead the Bobcats in Richmond.
Ciarra Lancaster had a triple and a single for Richmond (3-1) as well. Alyssa Pearson had two singles.
Rangeley (1-1) had just three hits, all singles.
