OAKLAND — An Oakland woman who had been missing for about two weeks has been found and is safe, the Oakland Police Department announced Thursday morning.

Janie Mullins, 29, who is also connected to the Sanford/Springvale area, according to police, was last seen Jan. 7 in Oakland and possibly Jan 8. in the Sanford area.

Oakland police Deputy Chief Rick Stubbert wrote Thursday morning in a Facebook post that Mullins had been found Wednesday in southern Maine and was safe.

Stubbert said did not know where Mullins had been located in Southern Maine.

Police also said they did not know who had found Mullins or why she had gone missing.
