PITTSFIELD — Maine Central Institute students have have recently learned about the impact shoes have in third world countries. Samuel Gachagua, a senior and a native of Kenya, is organizing a shoe drive. Students, teachers and Pittsfield community members can donate gently used and new shoes to benefit the Tumaini Children’s Home, a small orphanage in Kenya.

The shoe drive will take place over the course of the next 10 days.
