Tom Waddell’s claim (letter, May 16) that Barack Obama is a leader because he came out in favor of same-sex marriage is truly amazing.
Doesn’t Waddell understand that an election is in the near future?
Obama, as well as most other candidates, will say anything and everything to get elected.
Waddell needs to go back to the time before Obama become president. Take a look at all he said he was going to do, but never did.
It’s the same reason he is pandering to women right now. He’ll say whatever is needed to get a vote.
If re-elected, it will be interesting to see how he feels about same-sex marriage then. He’ll probably have a secret meeting with Jeremiah Wright and reverse course again. Anything to get re-elected.
Waddell should get his head out of the sand and look at the big picture.
