VASSALBORO — Maine’s 40 newest police officers recently graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. The officers received their badges following 18 weeks of study and training at the Vassalboro training facility. According to press release, Maine Attorney General William Schneider told the graduates, “The Maine Criminal Justice Academy consistently turns outstanding young cadets into modern law enforcement officers whose courage, commitment and daily efforts keep our citizens safe. These are Maine’s finest and I am pleased to join the Academy staff, families and friends in welcoming them to our law enforcement community.” Many of the new officers will be begin patrolling immediately, including during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

New area police officers are: Adam A. Moody and Carly B. Smith, Augusta Police; Ryan J. Rosie, Farmington Police; Matthew St. Laurent, Greenville Police; Jacob E. Pierce, Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office; Daniel D. Chabot, Livermore Falls Police; Toby J. Pond, New Sharon and William A. Scull, Fort Fairfield, all members of the State Police; Chase R. Fabian, Fairfield and Benjamin M. Grant, Winslow, Thomas College tuition students; Ryan P. Dinsmore, Skowhegan Police; Brandon D. Lund, Winslow Police.
