WATERVILLE — Inland Hospital recently honored two clinical staff members, one nursing and one non-nursing, as nominated by their peers, for their clinical excellence. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge the passion, competency and professionalism that so many of the clinical staff practices every day.

This year’s winners are:

Nursing Clinical Excellence Award: Melody Gillis, RN, Medical/Surgical Unit, is a dedicated nurse who exemplifies professionalism and compassion. She was a nurse for 30 years with the last 21 years working on the medical/surgical unit.

Non-Nursing Clinical Excellence Award: Susan Constable, MT, Laboratory, has always demonstrated the willingness to do whatever it takes to meet the laboratory’s mission. Constable was a medical technologist for 35 years and has been with Inland for 11 years.

Gillis and Constable each won a trip to a national conference of their specialty within the U.S. during the next fiscal year. Along with last year’s winners, they will assist administration in selecting next year’s award winners.
