BANGOR — Top-seeded Bangor swept No. 5 Messalonskee, 5-0, to take the Eastern Class A boys tennis semifinal match.
Patrick Stewart defeated Jai Aslam, 6-3, 6-2, to win at first singles. John Szewczyk beat Chris Knight, 6-0, 6-2, in second singles, and Sam Bolduc defeated Billy Noble, 7-5, 6-3, at third singles.
In doubles matches, it was Bangor’s Chris Howat and Connor Griffin over Ben Collins and Tyler Jones, 7-5, 6-4. Kris Bears and Robbie Brookings beat Eric Jacques and Nikko Noble, 6-0, 7-6 (7-4).
Dirigo 5, Monmouth 0: The No. 2 Cougars swept the No. 3 Mustangs to win the Western Class C semifinal match in Dixfield.
Josh Turbide won at first singles, beating Casey Smith, 6-1, 6-3. Jeremy Girgnon defeated Nick Trentholm, 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (15-13), at second seingles. Garret Carver beat Robert Vickerson, 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4, at third singles.
The doubles team of Mitch Stanley and Thomas Barnett won over Kyle Brown and Chris Taylor, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4. Nick White and Yossapat Chanarune defeated Ben Bolstridge and Joe Menice, 6-2, 5-7, 7-5.
