The Augusta Teen Center will hold its First May Day Auction and cornhole tournament from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at Mill Park on Water Street.
The day outdoors is to be filled with food, music and auction items, giving the community an opportunity to come together, learn about the center and help support its programs through sponsorship and donations.
A silent auction is to lead up to the event, and a live auction is to be held the day of the event. The auction link is biddingforgood.com/BGCAugusta.
All funds raised are to directly benefit the members of the teen center, supporting its mission of helping more than 500 youths learn and grow at no charge to the members. The center provides healthy meals, positive social engagement, and access to skills that help at-risk teens mature into responsible and stable adults.
The cornhole tournament is planned to begin at 10 a.m., followed by gourmet hot dogs at 11:30 a.m., silent and live auctions at noon, and music at 2 p.m.
For more information, contact the center at 207-622-0452 or [email protected].

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
