Robert A. Neal

MADISON – Robert A. Neal “Farmer Neal”, 85, peacefully passed away on April 28, 2021 at EMMC in Bangor. He was born on March 15 1936, son of Albion L. Neal, Edith A. Leavitt. He was raised on St. Albans Mountain with 11 brothers and sisters Lewis, Wayne, Blaine, Carroll, Laura, Dorothy, Daryl, Barbara, Meda, Sherry and James.

He than moved to Skowhegan where he worked in many shoe shops. He met his beloved wife, Elaine A. Fitzmaurice (predeceased) and married on June 22 1961.

Survived by two children David Neal (wife Sharon) of Rhode Island, Teresa McEwen (husband Ron) of Madison. Robert had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tannis McCourt (husband Joseph) their two daughters Evelynn and Gracelynn; Brett Neal, Ashley McCourt and her son Bentley; Dustin McCourt (spouse Montana) and their two sons, Bryton and Blake.

Robert was a man that would give his shirt off of his back, he was kind, wise, caring and a brave soul. His hobbies included gardening where he loved to grow pumpkins each year for his grandkids, fishing at his favorite trout hole which he would never reveal, and hunting, but in his later years preferred to sit and watch the deer walk by and enjoy nature.

He loved to build lots of things which included his own camp in which he lived in the summer time. He loved to sing and play guitar for his family and people who he just met. “Farmer Neal”, “Grandpa”, “Duba” will truly be missed by so many. We love and will miss your crazy stories, but we now know you’re flying high with the eagles.
