MONMOUTH — Monmouth Academy class of 2012 top 10 students have been announced.

Kristine Kahl, daughter of Robert and Danielle Kahl, has accepted an appointment to the United States Coast Guard Academy and plans to major in marine environmental science. Activities: U.S. Coast Guard Academy Introduction Mission summer Program, Frozen Ropes Gold Thunder Softball, varsity softball (freshman-senior), varsity basketball (freshmen-senior) captain junior and senior years, varsity cross-country (senior), National Honor Society (sophomore-senior), president, and Academic Decathlon (freshman-senior) starting Honor Team — competitor all four years; class president (sophomore and senior year), Key Club (sophomore-senior), secretary, Yearbook (sophomore-senior, 2012 editor, Prom Committee (junior and senior), Drama Club (senior), tech crew and MASH Pals & Peer Tutoring (freshman and sophomore).

Cameron Copeland, son of Sherry and Shawn Copeland, will attend Colby College and will spend his first semester studying abroad in Dijon, France. Activities: Student Council president, Key Club cofounder and vice president, lieutenant governor of Division 4 Key Clubs, Health and Fitness Club president, varsity basketball captain, varsity soccer captain, Math Team, chorus, Academic Decathlon and National Honor Society.

Matthew Bryant, son of Christopher and Kathryn Bryant, will attend Carnegie Mellon University and major in computer science. Activities: band, cross country, Nordic skiing, track, Math Team, National Honor Society and Academic Decathlon.

Mackenzie Kelley, daughter of Chris and Lucie Kelley, will attend the University of Maine Farmington majoring in secondary English education. Activities: band, cross country, drama, Academic Decathlon, Ski Club and National Honor Society.

Brian Nugent, son of Edward and Diane Nugent, will attend Rochester Institute of Technology, majoring in game design and development. Activities: Student Council, Math Team, Academic Decathlon, Envirothon, crosscountry, track, Nordic skiing, Key Club, National Honor Society and Tech Team.

Lauren Beaudoin, daughter of Robert and Kelly Beaudoin, will attend the University of New Hampshire majoring in occupational therapy. Activities: soccer, tennis, dance, Student Council, Key Club, National Honor Society, yearbook, Outing Club and Ski Club.

Angela Bechard, daughter of Don and Debbie Bechard, will attend Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania majoring in geology and environmental studies. Activities: softball, soccer, Key Club, Academic Decathlon and student member on the Maine State Board of Education.

Nicole Nugent, daughter of Edward and Diane Nugent, will attend Johnson and Wales University majoring in hospitality. Activities: Civil Rights, Key Club, drama, basketball, tennis, National Honor Society, Math Team, Envirothon, Academic Decathlon, Future Business Leaders of America and class secretary.

Kevin Anderson, son of Christopher Anderson and Erica Billings, will attend Central Maine Community College majoring in business management. Activities: football, basketball, wrestling, baseball, Math Team, Academic Decathlon and Key Club.

Colby Wilson, daughter of Joseph and Rhonda Wilson, will attend the University of Maine studying pre-veterinary science. Activities: National Honor Society, Key Club, Math Team, Envirothon, Student Government vice president, varsity basketball, varsity soccer, varsity softball, Civil Rights and Outing Club.
