The Troy Historical Society plans to hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the BB Cook Clubhouse, 569 Bangor Road in Troy.
The meeting is open to anyone interested in collecting and preserving the history of Troy, whether a member or not.
During the meeting members plan to vote on an update to the group’s bylaws and a new slate of officers. Planning will also get underway for an oral history project, a public meeting this summer with some long-time Troy residents to be held at the Troy Union Church, where local memorabilia will be on display.
The group seeks new members of all ages. Those interested do not need to live in Troy to join, and those with technological skills are especially welcome. Attendees are asked to wear masks, whether vaccinated or not.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
