SKOWHEGAN — The driver of a car was injured Wednesday evening in a rollover in Skowhegan, according to officials.
Shortly before 9 p.m., the small hatchback took down two Central Maine Power Co. utility poles before rolling over near 382 Back Road, according to Capt. Jason Frost of the Skowhegan Fire Department.
The driver was the only person in the car and was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. Frost and an official with the Skowhegan Police Department declined to identify the driver Thursday and said they did not know the extent of his injuries.
“It came in as somebody calling with an accident at the end of their driveway,” Frost said. “The patient, I think, self-extricated at the time. When we pulled up, they were loading him into the ambulance.”

It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
