FARMINGTON — Jimmy Neal and Eli Capen combined on a three-hitter as Franklin County defeated Madison Post 39, 3-1, in American Legion Baseball Zone 2 action Thursday night.
Neal also homered, doubled, and drove in a pair of runs. The Flyers (1-1) got two runs in the first inning and another in the third.
Taylor Bacon took the tough loss for Madison (1-1). Kameron Nelson doubled and singled for the visitors.
Post 51 10, Amato’s of Rockland 3: Post 51 erased a 3-0 deficit with eight runs in the fourth inning and went on to the Zone 2 victory in Waterville.
Blair Blaisdell went five innings and Jake Dexter pitched the final two for Post 51 (2-0). Blaisdell and Isiah Fleming each had two singles, and Devin Warren drove in three runs with a single and a two-run homer.
Taylor Hall doubled and singled for Amato’s.
Augusta 7, Lincoln 2: Tucker Whitman had a home run and a double as Augusta picked up its first win of the season.
Ryan Edwards added two singles for Augusta (1-1).
Junior Legion
Lewiston 4, Somerset 1: Ed Emerson pitched a complete game, allowing one run on four hits, while striking out four and walking none, in Skowhegan.
Nick Perrault doubled for Lewiston (2-1). Somerset falls to 1-2.
Fairfield Post 14 20, Bethel 1, 5 innings: Ryan Scott had two doubles and three RBIs as Fairfield won in Bethel.
Adam Littlefield added a double, two singles and three RBIs for Fairfield Post 14 (3-1). Joel Leclair had aa double, a single and three RBIs.
