PITTSTON — Kerri Malinowski will fill the remainder of Fred Kimball’s term on the Select Board.

Kerri Malinowski

Malinowski, 47, received 114 votes in a special election Tuesday, defeating 31-year-old Adam Towle, who garnered 59 votes. Tim Lawrence received three write-in votes.

A total of 176 voters turned out to decide who would take over for Kimball, who resigned the position in May after less than a year on the job.

RICHMOND

In Richmond, a special referendum vote to amend the town’s Land Use Ordinance failed by a 208-173 margin. A total of 383 votes were cast, with two ballots left blank.

The ordinance currently calls for units in planned unit or cluster developments to be connected to a common water supply and distribution system. The petition was to amend that ordinance to allow the Planning Board to undertake a case-by-case review for individual wells.
