Keith Allan Peckham

WEST GARDINER – Keith Allan Peckham, a lifelong resident of West Gardiner, died at the age of 55 at his home on July 23, 2021, after a two-year battle with aggressive prostate cancer. Throughout Keith’s final days, he made it clear that he persisted in his trust in God, his love for his family and friends, and in his sense of humor.

Keith was born to Charles R. Peckham and Beverly J. (Bates) Peckham and relished growing up and working on the family dairy farm.

Keith was self-employed for many years doing earthwork and cutting wood, often in collaboration with his brother, Kyle. For the past 15 years Keith had been employed by MaineGeneral Medical Center, working in several support services departments, most recently greeting and assisting the many people who walked through the front doors of the hospital.

Keith and his wife, The Rev. Laura L. Peckham, were blessed to enjoy 28 years of marriage.

Keith was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; and their children, Karlton S. Peckham of West Gardiner and Victoria M. Bell and her husband Chris of Augusta; as well as by their granddaughter, Liberty Bell, and a grandson who is expected later this summer. While Keith had several brothers and sisters, of particular mention are his brother Kyle L. Peckham and his wife Patricia who showed Keith and his family steadfast friendship, affection, and support, particularly throughout Keith’s illness.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, July 27 from 6 – 8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 28 from 9 – 10 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where a funeral will follow at 10 a.m. with The Rev. Susan Kraus officiating. Burial will follow in Chelsea Heights Cemetery, Chelsea.
