WATERVILLE — The members of the Business and Professional Women of Waterville recently honored scholarship recipients and their families at the June meeting held at Women’s Initiative, The Center.
Five $300 scholarships were awarded to the following recipients.
Rachel Wacome of Sidney received the Arline Andrews Lovejoy Scholarship. Wacome is a 2012 Messalonskee High School graduate and plans to attend Husson University majoring physical therapy.
Taylor Wright of Pittsfield received the Rachel E. Lemieux Youth Scholarship. Wright is a 2012 Central Maine Institute graduate and plans to attend Northeastern University majoring in pharmacy.
Anna Elizabeth Marshall of Norridgewock received the Jeanne L. Hammond Scholarship. Marshall is a 2012 graduate of Skowhegan Area High School and plans to attend Colby College majoring in marine biology and environmental science.
Kahleigh Rumnery of Clinton received the Continuing Education Scholarship. Rumnery plans to attend the University of Maine majoring in psychology and English.
Heidi Haskell of Winslow received the Career Advancement Scholarship and plans to attend Kennebec Valley Community College, majoring in health information technology. Haskell also received the BPW/Maine Futurama Foundation Kennebec Savings Bank Scholarship in the amount of $1,200.
Two $400 scholarships in memory of Pearl V. Ramsey were also presented to Dana Lang of Machias. Lang plans to attend Central Maine Medical Center College of Nursing; and to Elizabeth Bickford of Waterville who plans to attend the University of Maine at Augusta, majoring in mental health and human services.
