Edward F. Day Jr.

MADISON – Edward F. Day Jr. of Madison passed away on Aug. 5, 2021, after a lengthy battle with diabetes. He was born in Skowhegan on March 10, 1961, to Edward F. Day Sr. and Gwendolyn (Rackliff) Day.

“Bub” as he was known to family and close friends embraced life as much and as often as possible. His passion for all animals, specifically horses, was unrivaled. He spent many years raising, training, and grooming horses, but always found the time to go fishing or snowmobiling.

He was a great friend to those who knew him and a beloved family member to those of us who were lucky to have him. He will forever be missed but always remembered.

He is survived by his sister, Alice Arsenault and her husband Dale of Madison, daughter, Heather Genness and husband Rich Skeel of Belgrade, son, Ernest R. Day and his wife Jennifer of Strong, and his aunt, Mary Decker of Madison and his nieces, nephew, grandchildren and many cousins

Edward was predeceased by his parents, and sister, Linnie Libby.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Forest Hill Cemetery, Rt. 43, Park Street, Madison, Maine.

The family would like to thank all of the hospice workers, the staff at Maplecrest Nursing Home, and especially Samantha Christie who became a much-needed friend and caretaker for Edward.

Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
