FARMINGDALE — Child Care Options Resource Development Center will offer a training, Getting Started in Family Child Care: An Orientation, in January at Child Care Options, 337 Maine Ave.

The training, required by the Department of Health and Human Services for obtaining family child care certification, will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 and 26 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 28. It will cover aspects of opening a family child care business in a home, includig state certification procedures, health and safety practices, working with families, child development, community and professional resources and more.

The cost is a $25 fee for materials. Participants should register by Jan. 13.
