A St. Albans man has been arrested on charges he sexually assaulted a child younger than 12, according to officials.
Corey Farley, 30, was arrested at his home Tuesday and charged with gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact, according to Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster.
Lancaster said Thursday the Sheriff’s Office had received a tip July 27 regarding “a child under the age of 12 allegedly having been sexually assaulted by an adult male in the town of St. Albans.” The sexual assaults occurred over several months in 2020, according to Lancaster.
Farley made an initial court appearance Wednesday, where his bail was set at $50,000 cash. He was also ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim, the alleged victim’s family or anyone younger than 16.
Farley was being held Thursday at the Somerset County Jail in East Madison. He is expected to appear Sept. 29 at Somerset County Unified Criminal Court.
