Gary P. Veilleux II
AUGUSTA – Gary P. Veilleux II, 50, passed away on August 28, 2021 at his residence in Augusta. He was born Feb. 27, 1971 in Augusta and was the son of Gary and Linda Lane Veilleux.
Gary was a 1989 graduate of Cony High School and upon graduation he served three years in the Army including the Gulf War.
Gary’s most joyous purpose in life was as a father to his daughter, Maya Veilleux. Gary loved his daughter with all of his heart and soul and carried a lot of pride seeing the young woman she is today.
For nearly 30 years of Gary’s adult life he endured the ups and downs that derived from his mental health condition, resulting in addiction relapses and physical issues that finally took a toll on his body. Despite his struggles, Gary was a man who would give the shirt off his back for anyone; family, friend, or stranger. Anyone who knew him knew he was a kind, outgoing man who always had a listening ear to lend. He had a gift for conversations, which allowed others to feel they belonged. A father, brother, and son, Gary is deeply missed by his surviving family.
Gary’s happy place was a seat on an open porch with a coffee, listening to his music. He enjoyed a good concert, a trip to a casino, or a winning game of poker. Gary’s smarts and memory awarded him MVP of any competitive family trivia games. His wit, smile and giggle will be missed.
He was predeceased by maternal and fraternal grandparents; also his favorite cousin, Roberta McGuire and baby cousin, Courtney Lane.
He is survived by his pride and joy daughter, Maya Veilleux; his parents, Gary and Linda Lane Veilleux; his former spouse and friend, Stacey Veilleux; his siblings, Brad Veilleux and his companion Lauren, Joel Veilleux and his wife Jennifer, and Julie Veilleux Sinclair and her husband Craig; his nephews Jackson, Justin and Drew, his niece, Kylie; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a private graveside burial at a later date with immediate family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. Condolences, photos and stories may be shared by visiting http://www.plummerfh.com.
