FARMINGTON — Emma Morrison scored 13 points to lead the University of Maine at Farmington past Maine Maritime Academy 49-44 in a North Atlantic Conference women’s basketball game Saturday.

Mt. Abram graduate Kenni Norton added 12 points for the Beavers (5-10, 4-5).

Cony grad Courtney Dufour led Maine Maritime (8-7, 5-4) with 13 points while teammate Sam Goda scored 12.

Maine 57, Stony Brook 44: Samantha Baranowski scored 12 points and the Black Bears rolled to the America East victory in Stony Brook, N.Y.

Baranowski also had seven rebounds for Maine (5-15, 2-5 in America East). Corinne Wellington scored 12 points and Brittany Williams added 11 for the Black Bears.

Stony Brook dropped to 4-16, 1-6.

Husson 87, Thomas 48: Marissa Albert scored 18 points to lead the Eagles to the NAC win in Waterville. Amanda Gifford added 16 points for Husson (9-7, 9-1) while Brianna Hanscom scored 12 and Kelli Murray 11. Elizabeth Goodall paced the Terriers (2-14, 2-8) with 16 points.

UMA 60, EMCC 39: Katie Poirier scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Moose to the Yankee Small College Conference win in Bangor. Jenn Lola added 20 points and seven rebounds while Ashley Peaslee recorded nine assists for UMA (10-8). Eastern Maine Community College falls to 5-5.

Men’s basketball

UM-Farmington 63, MMA 58: Ben Johnson recorded his sixth double-double of the season, scoring 15 points and grabbing 14 rebounds as the Beavers won the NAC game in Farmington.

Pet Sumner added 11 points and five assists, while Andrew Dickey had 10 points for UMF (9-6, 9-1).

Shawn Dostie had 16 points and nine rebounds for MMA (2-14, 1-9), while Mt. Blue High School graduate Ben Russell had 13 points and six assists.

Stony Brook 58, Maine 52: The Black Bears fell to first-place Stony Brook in a defensive struggle in Ororo. Xavier Pollard paced Maine with 14 points and nine rebounds while Justin Edwards scored 14 points and Raheem Singleton added 13. Stony Brook is 11-7 overall and 6-1 in America East play while Maine falls to 8-10, 2-5.

Amherst 82, Colby 64: David Waller and Aaron Toomey both went 4 for 5 from 3-point range as the Lord Jeffs won a New England Small College Athletic Conference game in Waterville.

Waller finished with 18 points while Tommey had 16 points for Amherst (15-2, 5-0).

Shane Rogers had 17 points while Eric Beaulieu and Ben Foreman each had 15 for Colby (5-11, 1-4).

Men’s hockey

Williams 5, Colby 4: The Ephs scored three straight goals to rally from a 2-1 deficit and beat the Mules in a NESCAC game in Waterville.

Dan Nelson and Brendan Cosgrove scored back-to-back goals in the first period to give Colby (3-13-0, 1-11-0) a 2-1 lead. Williams (10-2-4, 7-2-1) which took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Justin Troiani, responded with goals by John Wickman, Craig Kitto and Cody Skinner.

Patrick Bursee got Colby within one, but Nick Anderson made it 5-3 with a goal for Williams. Spike Smigelski also scored for Colby.

Women’s hockey

Williams 4, Colby 3, OT: Gabrielle Vukasin’s goal, lifted the Ephs to the overtime win in Willimasotwn, Mass. williams scored three goals in the third period after trailing 2-0. Annie Papadellis, Lauren Guarente and Jessica Howerton scored for Colby (4-10-2) while goaltender Brianne Wheeler made 55 saves. Cjloe Billadeau made 20 stops in goal for Williams (9-7-0).

Skiing

Bates Carnival: Olga Golovkina finished 16th for the Colby women’s Nordic team in the 10K classical mass start in Rumford. In the men’s race, Jake Barton finished 28th for the Mules. Natalie Bierermann placed fourth in slalom and teammate Casady Roberts was seventh to help the Mules to an overall second place finish in the 12-team field with 93 points. Williams won the event with 110.

The Colby men took fifth with Brian Morgan taking 13th in slalom, Jim Ryan 17thm Matt McKenna 20th and Craig Marshall 22nd.

Also Saturday: Winthrop High School graduate Sam Leclerc scored 15 points as the Bentley College men’s basketball team beat the University of North Haven 66-54 in Waltham, Mass. . . . Maranacook graduate Ryan Martin scored 34 points to lead Keene State to a 77-68 win against UMass-Dartmouth . . . Nokomis graduate Kelley Paradis scored 24 points to lead the University of New England to a win against Western New England.
