Jean Louis Morin
AUGUSTA – Jean Louis Morin, 85, passed away on Oct. 7, 2021 at MaineGeneral Rehab and Nursing at Graybirch. He was born in St. Hilaire de Dorset, P.Q. on Sept. 22, 1936, a son of Henri and Germaine (Hallee) Morin.
As a young man, Jean moved to Augusta and married Jeannine Veilleux on July 7, 1962 and the two began a family. He held a variety of jobs and worked in foundation construction at George Poulin and a was a machine operator at Statler Tissue. Jean was mechanically inclined and also worked for himself doing small engine repair and landscaping odd jobs.
Jean was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed spending his free time four wheeling and snowmobiling.
Jean was predeceased by his parents; and his siblings Marthe LaCroix, Donia Morin, Arsene Morin and his wife Claudette, Gaetan Morin, and Lauretta Morin; brothers-in-law Giles Lamontagne and Henri Mathieu; and son-in-law, Jerry Morgan.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeannine Morin; daughters Diane Morin and her partner Roland Trask, and Nina Morin; grandchildren Shawn Morin and his wife Kelsey, and Michelle Walker and her husband Eric; great-grandchildren, Kaeleigh, Hadleigh, and Brendan; siblings Carole Lapointe and her husband Leo, Olivette Lamontagne, Marcelle Morin, and Johanne Mathieu; several in-laws, including Gerald LaCroix; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330, where a memorial service will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Augusta.
