FARMINGTON — Zach Gilpin scored at the buzzer as Hampden Academy rallied to beat Mt. Blue 65-63 in overtime in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A boys basketball game Saturday.
Hampden (13-1) trailed by six with about a minute left.
Gilpin finished with 17 points, while Christian McCue scored a game-high 26 for Hampden. Tyler Norris and Logan Poirier each added 10.
Cam Sennick had 20 points, while Eric Berry had 12 and Blake Hart 11 for Mt. Blue (10-4).
Valley 59, Vinalhaven 56: Trailing by nine points with 1:28 to play, the Cavaliers rallied and won the game with a Carrington Miller 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Trailing by nine, Caleb Wade hit back-to-back 3-pointers to bring the Cavaliers (11-4) within three. Miller then hit a 3-pointer to tie the game before ending it with a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Miller finished with 30 points and 11 rebounds. He hit seven 3-pointers, including four in the third quarter. Wade added 12 points and six assists.
Brian Stanley led Vinalhaven (8-7) with 19 points. Steven Osgood added 12 points for the Vikings.
Forest Hills 62, Rangeley 33: Evan Worster scored 23 points as the Tigers beat the Lakers in an East-West Conference game in Rangeley.
Brandon Ouellette added 12 points for Forest Hills (10-3).
A.J. Elms had 13 points for Rangeley (4-7).
