As towns in central Maine prepare for Election Day, two of them — China and neighboring Winslow — will have a series of municipal races on the ballot.

Election Day is set for Nov. 2.

China has open positions for Select Board, Planning Board and Budget Committee.

Wayne Chadwick, Brent Chesley, Peter Foote and Jeanne-Marie Marquis are running for two open seats on the Select Board. Chadwick is the incumbent and is seeking reelection. Selectwoman Irene Belanger is not seeking another term.

Natale Tripodi is running for reelection to the Planning Board.

Thomas Rumpf is the District 2 representative on the Budget Committee and is seeking to become chairman of the panel. Kevin Maroon is running for reelection as the District 1 representative.

Just to the north in Winslow, several candidates are seeking seats on the Town Council, school board of directors and library board of trustees.

Dale Macklin is the only candidate for a three-year term on the council representing District 2. Raymond Caron is running for the council representing District 4.

Jacinda Goodwin and Meghan Loubier are running for one open seat on the school board as an at-large member. No one is seeking to become the District 3 representative to the board.

There are two open positions for library trustee and Gwen Hawes and James York are on the ballot seeking those seats.
