Leo H. Bujold
SKOWHEGAN – Leo H. Bujold died peacefully at the age of 92, in Skowhegan, on Nov. 18, 2021, at home, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 1, 1929, in Maria, Quebec, to the parents of Leonard and Evelyne (Guite) Bujold. At the age of 16 Leo moved to Waterville, Maine with his family. He proudly served in the United States Army. On August 21, 1954, he married Olivette Marie Gurney at St. Francis de Sales Church in Waterville. He worked for 31 years at the Maine Central Railroad and retired in 1989.Throughout his retirement, Leo enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending time at Great Pond during the summer.Leo was devoted to his family and his faith. His favorite pastimes were spending time with family, gardening, taking daily walks, cheering on his children and grandchildren at various sporting events. Leo also delighted in a friendly, but fierce game of cards. He was an active member of the Waterville Elks Club, the American Legion, St. Francis de Sales Church in Waterville, and Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan.Leo is survived by his wife of 67 years, Olivette, his children Martha Carlow (Louis), Ann Goff (Ned), Michael Bujold (Nancy), Donald Bujold (Jullie), Janet Bujold and Paul Bujold (Ruth). Leo is also survived by four sisters Adrienne Desveaux, Noella Pelletier (Charles), Fern Bard (Leland), Sister Rita Bujold and a brother Harvey Bujold (Karen). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his sisters Paula Veilleux and Sister Dorothy Bujold.The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and aids that provided dedicated and compassionate care to Leo during his illness, specifically Tavi, Melissa, Candy and Emma.A service will be held on this Saturday Nov. 20, 2021, at 1 p.m., at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 283 Water Street, Skowhegan. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the Skowhegan Elks Lodge, 21 Silver Street, Skowhegan.
