Traffic will be stopped on the Maine Turnpike at mile 105 in Farmingdale for 20-minute periods starting Monday night to allow Central Maine Power Co. to install six transmission lines across the highway.

The traffic stops for both northbound and southbound lanes are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Monday and will last until 5 a.m. each night through Thursday, according to a news release from the Maine Turnpike Authority.

The authority said in the release that motorists should plan to use alternate travel routes during the closures. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of closures, and Highway Advisory Radio broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers of the closures.
