SKOWHEGAN — A Hartland man accused of firing shots at a man to whom he had given a Cadillac was among those who were indicted last week by a Somerset County grand jury.
The grand jury handed up indictments Tuesday charging 14 people with 28 counts. Among them was Wade Curtis, 35, who was charged with one count of reckless conduct with a firearm following a Nov. 1 dispute in Detroit.
Curtis apparently gave a 2009 Cadillac CTS as a gift to another person, only to have a falling out with the man and demanding the car be returned, authorities said at the time. Curtis saw the car parked on South Main Street in Detroit and fired shots at it, police said.
A bullet had become lodged in the trunk of the car, but nobody was injured.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt, rather an indication there is enough evidence to move forward with a trial.
