I can understand the necessity of the digital changeover, but why did Time Warner have to go with poor-quality converter boxes with near-useless remotes?
If Time Warner wanted to protect itself by scrambling the signal, why not provide a small, in-line decoder that would enable us to use the far superior remote that came with the TV? That would be worth a dollar a month, per TV.
