Richard A. Lavoie

AUGUSTA – Richard A. Lavoie, 71, passed away Jan. 31, 2022. He was born on August 25, 1950, a son of Alcide and Mary Lavoie.

Richard, also known as “Dick”, grew up in Bristol and graduated from high school. Life was not always easy for Dick; as a teenager he lost both of his parents. Later in life, he was blessed to meet his “adopted” family, the Willetts. Dick resided most of his life in Augusta and was employed at International Paper in Jay where he took an early retirement.

Some of Dick’s favorite pastimes include watching the lobster boats working (and chewing the fat with the local lobstermen), a trip to Florida with the Willett family, and going to antique car shows. Dick had an appreciation for old cars and enjoyed going to shows whenever he could. He will be remembered as a kind man with a good sense of humor.

He was predeceased by his parents; and good friend, Juanita Mayberry.

He is lovingly survived by his “family”, Tammie Willett and her husband, Dwight; their children, Juanita Blondin and her husband Derek, and DJ Willett; along with babies, Bentley Blondin, and “Little DJ”.

No visiting hours or funeral is being planned for Dick.

Arrangements are in the care of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. Condolences, stories, or photos may be shared by visiting http://www.plummerfh.com.
