NORTH ANSON — Carrabec jumped out to eight-point halftime lead before holding off Hall-Dale for a 49-45 Mountain Valley Conference boys basketball win Saturday.
Luke Carey scored a game-high 22 points for Carrabec (8-8) while Daniel Handley added 13.
Hall-Dale (6-10) was led by Jackson Leach with 12 points and Carter Bourque with 11.
WINTHROP 52, MONMOUTH 46: The Ramblers pulled ahead in final quarter and earned an MVC rivalry win in Monmouth
Monmouth (8-4) led at the end of each quarter, including 35-32 heading into the fourth, but Winthrop outscored the Mustangs 20-11 over the final eight minutes.
Logan Baird led the Ramblers (12-3) with 17 points, including nine in the fourth quarter. Andrew Foster added 11 and Brayden Stubbert contributed nine.
Monmouth’s Sammy Calder continued his recent hot streak with a game-high 19 points, while Hayden Fletcher finished with eight.
MT. BLUE 61, MESSALONSKEE 56: Zach Poison scored the team-high 16 points and Evan Sterling followed with 15 in the Cougars victory over Messalonskee (2-13) in Oakland.
Chandler Briggs scored 10 for Mt. Blue (7-8)
Messalonskee’s Merrick Smith scored the game-high 20 points and teammate Daniel Parent threw in 12.
RICHMOND 58, RANGELEY 34: Connor Vachon scored a game-high 16 points in the Bobcats’ (7-6) road win over the Lakers (2-8) in Rangeley.
Wyatt Cassidy was right behind with 15 points, including a trio of 3-pointers in the first half.
Chase Carmichael led Rangeley with 11 points and Trevor Dolbier added nine.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
OCEANSIDE 57, MARANACOOK 30: Anna Kingsbury got 17 of her 19 points in the second half, and the Mariners (14-0) used an 18-2 third-quarter run to pull away from the Black Bears (5-8) at Rockland.
Bailey Breen scored 12 of her 17 points in the second half for Oceanside, which led 14-13 at halftime.
Eliza Pattershall had nine points for Maranacook.
GARDINER 42, CAMDEN HILLS 26: Lizzy Gruber had 10 points and 14 rebounds to pace the Tigers to the KVAC A win in Gardiner.
Megan Gallagher added 11 points for Gardiner (13-1) while Megan Carver chipped in six points with nine rebounds.
Camden Hills (0-14) was led by Bailey Curtis and Tessa Whitley with eight points apiece.
GARDINER 44, MESSALONSKEE 23: Lizzy Gruber had 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Tigers to the KVAC A win in Gardiner in the second game of a doubleheader.
Kylee Nichols added six points and seven steals for Gardiner (14-1) while Megan Gallagher chipped in eight points.
Messalonskee (4-11) was led by Brennan Doran with 14 points.
RICHMOND 46, RANGELEY 43: Lila Vaselli and Kara Briand combined for 23 points to help direct the Bobcats to highly-contested win over the Lakers (8-2).
The game was tied at 32-32 going into the fourth quarter before Richmond managed to shake off Rangeley.
The Lakers’ Winnie LaRochelle scored the game-high 18 points and went 9-for-10 at the free-throw line. Emily Eastlack dropped 17 points.
WINTHROP 60, MONMOUTH 27: The Ramblers cruised to the win in a rivalry matchup in Monmouth.
Madeline Wagner made five field goals and five free throws to finish with a game-high 15 points for Winthrop (9-3). Maddie Perkins added 14 and Lydia Rice had 10.
Holly Hunt scored 10 points for Monmouth (3-7), while Haley DeHahn finished with six.
BOYS HOCKEY
PRESQUE ISLE 19, KENNEBEC 4: Isaac Staples, Dawson Kinney and Jonah Roy each had three goals to pace the Wildcats to the win.
Jared Newgard had a hat trick for the Riverhawks while Donnie Gurney added a goal.
