Oliver M. Gallant
AUGUSTA – It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our Ollie. Oliver M. Gallant, 44, of Augusta, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 3, 2022.
Oliver was born on Sept. 1, 1977, the son of Lori Begin (Gallant) and the late Arthur Gallant. He attended Winslow schools, graduating in 1995. In March of 2005 Ollie experienced the happiest day of his life when he welcomed his only son, Tyler, to the world.
Ollie was a talented and very hard-working master carpenter, building his first home at the age of 15. Ollie was employed by several large companies building both commercial and residential structures. At the time of his death, he was self-employed.
Although he worked hard and long hours, he always managed to make time to help others with their projects, large or small. He was always happy to help out.
Ollie loved his Harley and enjoyed being in Laconia for bike week. He was enjoyed gardening, boating and fishing. His favorite times were in Solon with his son, Tyler, building the camp together. We will all remember the good man Oliver was, his smile, the helpfulness and kindness he showed to others and the love he had for his family. Oliver is predeceased by his father, Arthur; grandfather, Ovide Gallant and grandfather, Roland Begin. He is also predeceased by his beloved Princess.
Ollie is survived by his son, Tyler Gallant, of Fairfield; his mother, Lori Begin and her life partner John Strickland of Sidney; his brother, Jonathan, wife Jihye and their son Luke of Washington State; his sister, Jhami Whitish and her daughter Scarlett of Augusta and Jhami’s fiance Ben; sister, Angela Henderson and her husband Adam of Rockland, bonus sisters Melissa and Heather of Portland; grandparents Jessie Mae and Raymond Turmelle and Mary Gallant all of Waterville; the woman he shared his life with during the past several months, Holly Holmes; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
