Patricia M. Roberts

PITTSFIELD – Patricia M. Roberts died Feb. 18, 2022, after a long illness, with her sister and brother-in-law by her side. She was born Nov. 6, 1949, daughter to Freeman Rollins Jr. and Ruth Roberts Rollins.

Pat attended school in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Maine Central Institute, class of 1967. Pat also furthered her education later in life, acquiring her associate’s degree from Columbia Green College. Pat married her high school sweetheart, Herbert McManus, and together they had two children, Chris and Mark McManus. She later married Edmond Roberts in 1994, and they resided together in Rhinebeck, N.Y.

Pat was a hard worker, retiring from the United States Postal Service after serving in both Tivoli and Rhinebeck. In retirement, she enjoyed spending summers at her cottage in Northport, where she spent time combing the beach for sea glass. Pat was a woman of many talents, making sea glass jewelry, beautiful paintings, arranging flowers, researching genealogy, and cooking amazing meals for so many. Maybe her favorite role was one of “nanny” to her grandchildren, playing and creating with them as often as she was able. She was also an avid pet mom to her dogs, Sam and Katie, finding them a great comfort during her illness. She enjoyed her time spent at Linwood Spiritual Center, which became her favorite place for Mass and religious services. She was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck and attended the Kennebec Valley Baptist Church while in Maine.

Pat was predeceased by her parents; a special aunt, Mary Tobey; and her best friend, Carol McCann. She is survived by her two sons, Chris McManus (Baju) and Mark McManus (Jill); two grandsons, Shane and Brody McManus; her husband, Edmond Roberts, her sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Steven Salley, her brother, Scott Rollins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gloria and Ernie Arico and Anthony and Maryanne Roberts; stepchildren, Corey (Alex) Roberts and Meghan Roberts; granddaughter, Sophie Roberts; nieces, Janice Arico (Ingred), Cheryl Ann Quirk, and Lisa Erhardt (Mark), nephews, Ronald Arico, Ernie Arico, and Joey (Lee-Ann) Salley; special grandnephews, Emmett and Eli Salley; special aunt and uncle, Bev and Gary Rollins; as well as many cousins. She is also survived by special friends, Flora Berquist and her family, Nancy Booth, Rita and David Burton, Jeanne and Pete Hubel, Jamie Weldon, and Douglas Fernald, among many others.

The family would like to extend appreciation to Beacon Hospice, with special thanks to Suzanne Graves, Erica Leprevost, Nancy Booth, Sally Cookson, and Sue Salley for their kind and compassionate care during Pat’s illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, with the Rev. Mark Rollins officiating. A committal service will be held in the spring at the Village Cemetery, Peltoma Ave., Pittsfield.
