Constance (Johnson) Shaw
WAYNESBORO, Va. – Constance (Johnson) Shaw, 85, of Waynesboro, Va., passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022.
She was born in Portland, Feb. 16, 1937, the daughter of Ray and Thelma (Cates) Johnson. She attended Augusta schools, graduating from Cony High School in 1955.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Richard, in 2011; her son Jeffrey “Jeff” Shaw in 2021; her parents; sisters Patricia “Patty”, Barbara Fayle and Mabel Breton, brothers Donald Johnson and John Skillin; and a special uncle and aunt, Jennings and Phillis Witham.
Connie is survived by her three daughters, Karen Bonsant and her husband, Robert of East Livermore, and their children Andy and Jennifer; Lisa Shaw of Louisa, Va. and her children Morgan and Jesse; Kimberly Shaw of Waynesboro, Va. and her children Brooke (Michael) and Brandon (Kiara); one son, Richard “Rick” Shaw and his wife, Barbara of Harrisonburg, Va, and their children Stephanie and her husband, James, Kayla and her husband, Matt, Kristina, and Kyle and his wife, Madison; daughter-in-law, Kim Shaw of Hermitage, Va. and her children, Tiffany, Jesse (Jess), Jared and his wife Cassie and Shannon; 12 great-grandchildren with two on the way; and one great-great-grandchild.
At Connie’s request, there will be no services. Richard and Connie Shaw will be laid to rest in the Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta.
The family extends gratitude and thanks to the various caregivers, hospice nurses and home aides, especially Kasie and Mary Scott, for their exceptional care.
The family is being served by Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, Fishersville, Va.
