Roland W. Dearborn
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Roland W. Dearborn, formerly of Richmond, Maine, passed away on April 1, 2022 from COPD and heart problems.
He was born Oct. 19, 1935 in Richmond, the son of Arthur and Virte Dearborn. He attended grade schools and received his GED in the United States Army. Roland enlisted in the US Army along with his brother Lawrence in February 1953 where he served in the military police for eight years, serving in Louisiana, Kentucky, and Virginia. He also served two overseas tours in Germany.
Roland was Post commander of the Emerson and Lane American Legion post 132, where he was a Post district commander and Grand Chef de Gare. Roland belonged to VFW Post 9 where he twice served as commander, Masonic Lodge 26 in Bowdoinham, Kora shrine Temple in Lewiston and the Eagles in Gardner.
Roland was predeceased by his parents; his former wife Judith, sisters Christine Dearborn, Thelma Prout and her husband Joe and his brother Lawrence. Roland is survived by his loving wife Elsa Dearborn, brother Gregory; son Russell Seigars and wife Debbie; special nephew Donald McKenna; many brothers and sisters-in-law; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Roland would like to thank the members of the Bay Pine Health VA for all of their help.
Burial with military honors will be held graveside at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta at a later date.
