AUGUSTA — The Land Use Regulation Commission will go on the road for its next three meetings.

Commissioners will meet Wednesday in Ellsworth, while the November and December meetings will be held in Lincoln, LURC Executive Director Catherine Carroll said in a news release. The commission usually meets in Bangor.

On Wednesday, commissioners will make a decision on the Bull Hill wind project, proposed by Blue Sky East LLC for Hancock County. They also will begin deliberations on the Bowers Wind Project for Washington and Penobscot counties proposed by Champlain Wind LLC.

The meetings are open to the public, but the records for the wind projects are closed, so no public comments will be taken, Carroll said.

“The primary reason for changing the meeting location is to get out,” Carroll said. “The commission has felt bogged down with unprecedented projects,” including the Plum Creek development, wind-power projects and its comprehensive plans. “They’ve gotten in the way of considering other matters, such as expediting permitting and other projects and important issues,” she said.
