In light of the recent vote to not retain the Public Works in Readfield, I only hope that local contractors who have politicked for this change will accept their responsibility to provide the town a fair service at a reasonable cost.
I expect that the group voting for change will not cause my taxes to increase.
The Readfield Budget committee has done well, from my view, in this downturn, as my taxes have been stable throughout.
If the quotes each year come with an increased cost and do not adequately care for the roads in town, then I as a taxpayer will feel I have been taken advantage of.
I assume all participants understand their ethical and moral responsibility to the town and will act accordingly.
