SIDNEY — Maine Arts Academy plans to hold its free spring recital at 9 a.m. Friday, May 13, on the Maine Arts Academy campus at 11 Goldenrod Lane.
Guests will be guided around campus to view students in theater, dance, vocal and instrumental performances, according to a news release from the academy.
“Maine Arts Academy taught me the foundations of being able to turn my passion into a profession,” said junior Talon Moody. “People are very devoted to their arts here. It’s a great work environment for any arts pathway.”
The academy students choose from a list of specialized arts pathways, which include theater, dance, choral, instrumental and visual arts.
“I came here because I really wanted to specialize in what I loved doing,” said senior Amara Aiken. “I feel like I’ve grown so much as an actor, a director, a playwright, and vocally. Everyone is so supportive.”
Audience members are encouraged to wear facial coverings when entering indoor performance spaces during the recital.
