Sen. Chloe Maxmin and Canyon Woodward will host an event from 6-8 p.m. on May 10 at Maine Booch Brewing, 85 Parking Lot Lane in Damariscotta to celebrate the launch of their new book “Dirt Road Revival: How to Rebuild Rural Politics and Why Our Future Depends On It.”
Maxmin and Woodward (her campaign manager in 2018 and 2020) wrote the book after their two successful campaigns in House District 88 and then Senate District 13. Rooted in our rural community, it makes the case for why Democrats need to invest in rural America and listen to rural voters. They take direct aim at where Democrats have faltered with rural voters, from leaning on policy positions rather than articulating values, to writing off Republican voters before trying to connect on areas of common concern. The book shares countless hopeful stories from our community, as stated in a news release.
Books will be available for purchase at this event. Please join for a night of music, food and drinks. There will also be a special screening of “Rural Runners,” which shares the authors’ stories.
