MONMOUTH — A five-run third inning helped the Monmouth Softball team to a 7-1 win over Lisbon in a Mountain Valley Conference game on Friday.

Shannah Parsons had two hits for the Mustangs (5-0), and Rileigh Chase added two RBIs. Brooklyn Federico got the win in the circle for the Mustangs, who had seven hits on the afternoon.

Erica Hill took the loss for the Greyhounds (2-2), which had five hits at the plate and scored its lone run in the top of the seventh.

 

HALL-DALE 12, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0: The reigning Class C champion Bulldogs (5-0) scattered 15 hits Friday to cruise to a mercy-rule victory over the Falcons (2-5) in Farmingdale.

Zoe Soule had three singles for Hall-dale, which also got two singles and two RBIs from Lexi Rideout and two singles and three RBIs from Torie Tibbetts. Ashlynn Donahue got the win in the circle for the Bulldogs and added a double at the plate.

Alison Legere took the loss for Mountain Valley, which had four hits and committed four errors in the field.

 

MADISON 11, BUCKFIELD 0, 5 INNINGS: Brooke McKenney went 4 for 4 at the plate and pitched a complete game shutout to lead the Bulldogs to a win over the Bucks in Madison.

McKenney allowed just two hits in the circle for Madison (6-0), striking out 13 batters. Landyn Landry added four hits for Madison.

Buckfield falls to 1-5.

SKOWHEGAN 8, CAMDEN HILLS 0: Jaycie Christopher had three hits, including a double, to lead the River Hawks to a win over the Windjammers in Skowhegan.

Sierra Carey had two hits, including a double, for Skowhegan (7-1).

Camden Hills drops to 0-5.

 

TELSTAR 9, WINTHROP 8: The Rebels (4-3) squeaked past the Ramblers (3-3) with a three-run top of the seventh inning to win in Winthrop.

Winthrop had a three-run bottom of the seventh inning but the rally fell a run short.

Mackenzie Eliot had 3 RBIs and two hits, including a triple, for Telstar. Leah Kimball had two hits, including a double. Payton Berry had three hits for the Rebels.

Lauryn Wood had four hits for the Ramblers, including a double, and four RBIs. Maddie Perkins’ three-hit day included a double and a triple. Annabell Rice had two RBIs. Lydia Rice had a triple and three hits total.

 

BASEBALL

 

OXFORD HILLS/BUCKFIELD 11, MT. BLUE 0: Andrew Merrill and Brady Truman each had three hits and drove in two runs as the Vikings (6-1) overpowered the Cougars (3-4) in Farmington.

Oxford Hils/Bucfield used an 11-hit attack and seven-run eruption in the fourth inning. The Cougars had three hits but made three errors.

Eli Soehren hammered out three hits for Oxford Hills/Buckfield and winning pitcher Wyatt Knightly went the full five innings and struck out eight batters.

 

WINSLOW 7, WATERVILLE 4: Lucas Boucher, Tyler Brockway, David Doughty, Nicholas Girard and Andrew Poulin each had two hits to lead the Black Raiders to a win over the rival Purple Panthers in Winslow.

Boucher earned the win on the mound for Winslow (2-5).

Billy Place had a double for Waterville (2-5).

DIRIGO 5, MT. ABRAM 2: The Cougars (3-2) earned the win with just a pair of hits over the Roadrunners (4-1) in Strong.

Trenton Hutchinson earned the win on the bump for Dirigo, giving up just one run with nine strikeouts in five innings of work. Hutchinson also got a hit and scored two runs.

Mt. Abram’s Tucker Plouffe, Bear Rollins and Ian Allen all tallied doubles.

GIRLS LACROSSE

 

CONY 13, DEERING 4: Azabell Assaf scored five goals to lead Cony (4-1) to a 13-4 victory over Deering in an all-Ram battle in Augusta.

Raegan Bechard, Abigail Morrill and Andrea Richardson scored two goals apiece for Cony in the win. The home team also got goals from Sierra Prebit and Dinah Wadleigh.

Ariana Burham, Natalina Dinizio, Anja Franck and Morgan Shibles scored a goal apiece for Deering.
