FAIRFIELD — There is a new statewide deadline for requesting absentee ballots. Anyone who needs to request an absentee ballot for the Nov. 8 election must do so no later than Thursday, Nov. 3, by close of business.

Absentee ballots can only be issued after this date for extenuating circumstances. If you would like to cast your vote by absentee ballot for this election, you must contact the town clerk’s office no later than Nov. 3. Ballots can be mailed, picked up by an immediate family member, or voted in person at the Town Office.

Fairfield residents are to call Town Clerk Tracey Stevens at 453-7346. Office hours are 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
