Waterville and Winslow public schools and Vassalboro Community School are participating in the Summer Meals Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

There will be nine open sites in Waterville, as well as five sites in Winslow and Vassalboro, where lunches will be provided to all children 18 and younger, free of charge. People can bring children for a free lunch on weekdays from Monday, June 27 to Friday, Aug. 19, to any of the sites listed below at the scheduled time.

WATERVILLE SITES:

• George J. Mitchell School, 58 Drummond Ave., 8-9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon.

• Armory Road Housing, Armory Road, 10:45-11:05 a.m.

• Village Green, West River Road, 10:45-11:05 a.m.

• Home Place Housing, 150 College Ave., 11:10-11:30 a.m.

• Chaplin Street Playground, Chaplin Street, 11:35-11:55 a.m.

• South End Teen Center, 5 Libby Court, 11:35-11:55 a.m.

• North Street playground, 151 North St., 12:15-12:35 p.m.

• Western Avenue Playground, Western Avenue, noon-12:20 p.m.

• Veteran’s Memorial Park, corner of Elm and Park Street, 12:35-12:55 p.m.

WINSLOW SITES (unless noted)

• Winslow Elementary School, 285 Benton Ave., 8-9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon.

• Vassalboro Community School, 1116 Webber Pond Road, Vassalboro, 11-11:20 a.m.

• Norton Street Playground, Norton Street, 11:35-11:55 a.m.

• Halifax Street Playground, Halifax Street, noon-12:20 p.m.

• Clinton Avenue Playground, Clinton Avenue, 12:25-12:45 p.m.

These meals meet Federal Nutrition Standards and focus on fresh fruits and vegetables. All meals must be eaten on site. Trained school food service staff will prepare and deliver these meals to the sites, according to a news release from John Hersey, food service director in child nutrition with Vassalboro, Waterville and Winslow schools.
