To celebrate summer in Maine, Monkitree is displaying paintings by Terry Wilson of Gardiner, who captures the magic of Maine summers in “Mainely Summer.” Whether it is trips along the rugged coast, to tranquil lakes, hiking in forests or visiting historic downtowns, one can’t help but savor the vibrancy of the season.
Wilson, born and raised in the state of Maine, clearly has a passion for her subject. She captures the beautiful vacationland she calls home in every stroke of her brush. Inspired by the many adventurers she takes with her family, she says, “I hope to convey a small piece of the many beautiful reasons we love this state,” according to a news release from the gallery.
The show can be seen at the gallery at 263 Water St. through Aug. 27 during regular shop hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. It can also be seen Aug. 19 during Artwalk Gardiner.
