Parker M. Worthing

HALLOWELL – Parker M. Worthing, 87, died Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his home following a long illness.

He was born in Augusta on April 21, 1935, a son of the late Jasper and Marion P. (Parker) Worthing. Mr. Worthing was a graduate of Cony High School, the University of Maine (B.A.), Cornell University (MBA), and Michigan State University (Ph.D.). He worked for more than 30 years as a Professor of Marketing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Mr. Worthing was predeceased by his daughter, Jane A. Worthing; and his brother, Robert Worthing.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marcia D. (Diplock) Worthing of Augusta; his son, Peter M. Worthing of Fort Worth, Texas; granddaughter, Tanushri Worthing of Fort Worth, Texas; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
