PITTSFIELD — Following a one-year hiatus, Donna Chale is heading back to the Town Council.
Chale won the race to represent District 3 in Tuesday’s election, 145-114, against Crystal Witham.
Chale, 60, was elected to the seat four years ago and she decided last year not to seek re-election after serving the three-year term because she planned to move out of town. William Bradshaw defeated Witham to succeed Chale on the council.
But Bradshaw moved away, creating the vacancy, and Chale did not move after all. She is the school district’s librarian.
Chale has previously said she thinks the town is on the right track.
“I think the town’s done a really good job of providing services balanced with fiscal responsibility,” Chale has said.
Witham, 48, a senior injury resolution consultant with the company CMS, said she was running because she wasn’t satisfied with certain operations of the town government.
