PITTSFIELD — The Winslow boys soccer team began its Northern Maine title defense Friday with a 5-0 victory over Maine Central Institute.

Andrew Poulin had two goals and an assist for Winslow, and Joey Richards had a goal and two assists. The Black Raiders (1-0) also got goals from Jacob Owen and Brody Willette and assists from Lucas Boucher and Braden Rodrigue.

In goal, Jason Reynolds had four saves for Winslow, and Cole Allen made 12 saves for MCI (0-1).

 

HALL-DALE 2, OAK HILL 0: Thomas Murch and Keegan Cary each scored to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Farmingdale.

Cary also had an assist for Hall-Dale (1-0-0) while Jackson Leach made 15 saves.

Cade Fessenden stopped 12 shots for Oak Hill (0-1-0).

 

CONY 2, WATERVILLE 1: John Ramage scored both goals to lead the Rams to the season-opening in in Waterville.

Cony is 1-0-0.

Sam Weschler scored the goal for the Purple Panthers (0-1-0) off an assist from Theo Rhuesen while Alex Snipe made four saves.

MARANACOOK 4, LEAVITT 0: Jacob Nisby had a pair of goals to pace the Black Bears to the win in Turner.

Luke McLaughlin and Ethan Clark scored for Maranacook (1-0-0) while Sam St. Germaine made 13 saves for the shutout.

Vanya Bezhenar stopped six shots for Leavitt (0-1-0) and Alex Corey made 10 saves in the loss.

 

MT. ABRAM 14, TELSTAR O: Kaden and Killian Pillsbury each turned in hat tricks to lead the Roadrunners past the Rebels.

Charlie Pye and Jose Torres contributed two goals apiece Mt. Abram.

WATERVILLE 5, CONY 0: Mara Von Oesen recorded four goals and an assist as the Purple Panthers topped the Rams to begin the Ed Worcester era in grand fashion.

Allie Anich also scored for Waterville (1-0), which got two assists from Taylor Doane and four saves from Lexi van der Westhuyzen. Cony’s goalkeeper made 13 saves.

RICHMOND 3, RANGELEY 0: The Bobcats made a long road trip a successful one Friday as they kicked off the 2022 season with a  victory in Rangeley.

Breonna Dufresne, Izzy Stewart and Lila Viselli scored for Richmond (1-0), which only needed one save from goalkeeper Autumn Lane. Nichole Lemay made 13 saves for Rangeley (0-1).

 

GARDINER 1, ERSKINE 0: Sophia Marrone scored the lone goal to lift the Tigers to the season-opening victory in South China.

Taylor Takatsu made nine saves in the net for Gardiner (1-0-0).

Sophia Pilotte stopped 10 shots for the Eagles (0-1-0).

MCI 4, WINSLOW 0: Emma Burr scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Huskies to the KVAC B win in Winslow.

Morgan Jensen, Charlotte Hands and Skyla Dean also scored for MCI.

Daphne Hands had an assist.

HALL-DALE 2, BOOTHBAY 0: Faith McDougal scored twice to lead the Bulldogs to a season-opening win over the Seahawks in Boothbay Harbor.

Mira Skehan and Torie Tibbetts had an assist each for Hall-Dale. Goaltender Jade Graham had five assists for the Bulldogs (1-0) in the win.

Boothbay fell to 0-1.

 

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 7, OAK HILL 0: Olivia Mastine and Aubrey Kachnovich each scored two goals and an assist in the Phoenix’s (1-1) victory over the Raiders (1-1) in Jay.

Mariyah Fournier scored and earned an assist, while Brooklyn Fournier and Leah Burgess each collected a goal for Spruce Mountain. Mallory Clark and Hannah Jewett combined to make two saves in the win.

Ella Martin stopped two shots for Oak Hill.
