WATERVILLE — Kennebec Valley Chordsmen, Waterville chapter, recently elected officers.

Officers are: Galen Larrabee of Knox, who was reelected president; Chad Arms of Vassalboro, district delegate and vice president of chapter development; Jay Daniel of Norridgewock, vice president of music and performance; Juan Lavalle-Rivera of Albion, vice president of marketing and public relations; Jay Daniel of Norridgewock, vice president of membership; Bob Sullivan of China Village, vice president of Young Men in Harmony; Wayne Curtis of Vassalboro, secretary; Jasper Farrington of Palmyra, assistant secretary; Gary Frosch of Hartland, treasurer; Tim Giroux of Vassalboro, immediate past president; Dave Stevenson of Vassalboro, music director; and Charles Maroon of Winslow, chorus manager. Directors at Large are Ben Clark of Fairfield, Jay Daniel of Norridgewock and Bob Sullivan of China Village.

Glen Van Deventer of Unity was named Barbershopper of the Year Award. Van Deventer has served as secretary for the chapter and is also active with the chorus activities and as a quartet member. The presentation was made by Bob Sullivan, last year’s recipient.

Four members — Curtis, Daniel, Farrington, and Larrabee — will attend the Northeast District Leadership Academy in January at Worcester, Mass.

The group meets at 7 p.m. on Thursdays at Winslow Elementary School, 285 Benton Ave., Winslow.
