There was a good letter Sept. 11, “Keep domesticated cats in the home,” by Denise Maheu of Waterville. She missed one persuasive point. If you want to love your cat longer, keep it indoors and it (they) will live longer.
Incidentally we once adopted a dog who wanted to kill every cat he saw. We got him a kitten and they became best friends.
Someone gave our daughter a kitten to go with her new house. The kitten woke her at all hours of the night to play. She cured this by getting a second kitten so they could entertain each other and let her sleep.
