Karen Grimshaw, a singer, songwriter and member of Hallowell-based band The Blenders, is scheduled to perform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Lithgow Public Library, 45 Winthrop St. in Augusta.
Inspired by her rural Kansas roots and a childhood spent listening to her parents’ diverse record collection, Grimshaw crafts songs that blend folk, blues and country into intimate stories about love and life.
Whether she is singing her own songs or well-known and loved songs, she delivers them with a pure and melodic voice that connects to the heart, according to a news release from June Budrow at the library.
As with all of Lithgow’s events, this event is free and open to the public.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
