
AUGUSTA — The Mill Park Pétanque Club plans to host an event at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Mill Park at 1 Water St.
Marco Foyot, a 36-time major pétanque champion, will offer professional instruction to its players, according to a news release from Raymond Fecteau, club member.
Those who want to take part in the lessons will need to make an appointment ahead of time. The cost is $30 for one hour.
Foyot, who has been the French national champion seven times, also won the country’s junior championship twice. As a member of France’s triples team in World Petanque Championship competition, he has won gold, silver and bronze medals six different times (gold in Italy in 1992, silver in Belgium in 1995, and bronze in Italy in 1988, France in 1994, Germany in 1996 and Portugal in 2000).
In addition, he has won numerous competitions in France and across Europe.
