I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the people of Hallowell, Manchester and West Gardiner for electing me to serve as their representative in Augusta.

I would also like to thank the many, many people who helped me during the campaign. There are too many to mention here individually, but I never could have done it without those who drove me around, wrote letters to the editor, put signs on their lawns, kept me organized, donated to the Clean Election Fund, gave me advice and encouraged me. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I especially enjoyed traveling throughout the district and meeting so many of you at your doors. There were lots of memorable interactions, some moving, some sad, some laugh-out-loud funny, but all were important pieces of helping me get to know the various people and places that make up the district, and the issues that are important here. I appreciate your willingness to talk with a stranger who just appeared at your door, and the time you took out of your busy schedules to share your thoughts with me. I will be setting up periodic office hours throughout the three towns to help me stay in touch, and I encourage you to reach out to me with your opinions and ideas.

I look forward to working for you and with you all for the next two years. I am both grateful for the opportunity and humbled by the faith you have shown in me by granting me this honor.

Dan Shagoury
